5 Stylish Ways to Dress-Up Your Jeans

In 2010 Fashion Trends, Fashion Scarves, Get the Look, Pashmina Scarves, Pashmina Shawls and Scarves on November 26, 2010 at 6:18 pm

1. Wear a cute jacket

Pairing up your favorite pair of jeans with a cute fashionable jacket can do wonders for your look. It can change your appearance from casual to super stylish in a heart beat. Let’s take Zoe Saldana’s example. The actress decided to pair her blue jeans with a tweed jacket and transformed her look into a red carpet worthy outfit. We love the result.

Not a fan of tweed? Then try the boyfriend blazer. Sarah Jessica Parker wears it so well with her jeans!

2. Wear a pair of over-the-knee-boots

You have two major reasons to wear over-the-knee boots with your jeans this season: first they will keep your feet warm and second you will look absolutely fabulous. Check out Penelope Cruz! She sure knows how to wear a pair of dark denim jeans.

3. Wear chunky knits

If you love chunky knits this is the time to wear them! For a stylish look layer chunky knits: wear a sweater coat over a turtleneck sweater. Of course, pair the layered knits with a cute pair of jeans. Supermodel Elle McPherson shows us how to look effortlessly chic in chunky knits and jeans.

4. Wear sparkly tops

Jeans are not made to be worn casually only. Dress up your favorite pair of jeans by pairing them with a fabulous sparkly blouse or jacket. Cutie Rachel Bilson looks fashionable in a sparkly tux while Lindsay Lohan rocks a silvery top paired with matching jeans.

5. Wear necklaces and scarves

Whether you go for layered necklaces or stylish scarves you’re guaranteed to achieve a fashionable outfit. Take your favorite pair of jeans and pair it with a basic shirt then add multiple necklaces like Joy Bryant did or if you are a scarf person pair the outfit with a funky pashmina like Shakira did. Either way you’ll look amazing with minimum effort!

5 Tips for the Perfect Casual Date-Night Look for Autumn

In 2010 Fashion Trends, Fashion Scarves, Get the Look, Pashmina Scarves, Pashmina Shawls and Scarves on November 16, 2010 at 5:52 pm

Picking out the perfect outfit for a date can be sometimes tricky, especially if you’re going on a more casual date like a stroll to the park, a walk around the city or a movie-date. If your date just suggested you go for a long walk, don’t panic; check out our 5 tips for the perfect casual date night look:

1.      We know that wearing heels makes women feel sexier and confident but this time you might want to resist the urge to wear stilettos. Instead, opt for a stylish pair of flat boots. Still, if you are short or simply don’t feel comfortable in anything but heels, choose wearing a pair of chunky heels or wedges.

2.      Remember: this is a casual date. Wear something that reflects your unique style, that it’s comfortable but also stylish.  We suggest a pair of jeans (skinny or regular, which suits your body shape best), a cute cashmere sweater dress or a knitted cardigan. Cover up with a trench coat or a stylish jacket.

3.       If you feel comfortable enough wearing them, opt for a pair of jeggings. Just make sure you pair them with a long top that covers your hips.

4.      Stay away from party dresses or anything you’d wear while you’re out with the girls partying ‘till 3a.m.

5.      Accessorize to add a dash of color and style to your overall appearance. Autumn is the perfect time to wear chunky scarves, pashmina shawls and cute hats. We love the cute knitted caps and the chunky shawls Kim Kardashian’s been wearing.

What would you wear for a casual date-night?

The ultimate luxurious accessory: Kashmiri Shawls

In 2010 Fashion Trends, Bridesmaid Pashmina Shawls, Pashmina Scarves, Pashmina Shawls and Scarves, Women's Scarves on November 3, 2010 at 11:06 pm

About a week ago, we decided to start a series of fashion posts by request, meaning that you, our lovely readers, are invited to suggest topics for our upcoming blog posts. The first one to make a suggestion was The Unreal Bride , fellow twitterer and glam fashionista. Her idea: to write a post about Indian Kashmiri Shawls.

The Indian Kashimiri Shawls trend has been continuously growing in the past years, with lots of stylish ways to wear them. What first started as an attempt to keep out the cold has quickly became more about the style and fashionable look the shawls create. After experimenting with numerous ways of wearing them, we’ve discovered that the shawls look good in absolutely every way: from simply thrown over the shoulder to a more sophisticated style, perfect for a business meeting.

What makes Kashmiri shawls so special: Made from the finest wool, pashmina and shahtoosh, the Kashimiri Shawls are the ultimate luxurious way of combining fashion and function. The Kashmiri Shawls are perfect for any occasion, classy or casual, and any event. Among the different types of shawls, Kashmiri shawls may also include the soft pashmina shawls. These are available in both simple dye: pleasant colors such as beige, ivory, or almond and eye-catching colors, and also with rich traditional embroidery and fabulous designs. Either way, they’re created to make you stand out from the crowd. Another reason ladies love pashminas: they are flattering for all body types and add the finishing touch to any outfit!

How to wear Kashmiri shawls: Kashmiri Shawls truly are statement pieces and every fashionista has at least one in her wardrobe. The style of wearing them can enhance your appearance in a heart beat, making you look stylish and ready to wow:

Elegant: Kashmiri Shawls look fabulous draped around the head. You can even create a turban out of a luxurious shawl. And we all know turbans are back this season.

To achieve the perfect evening look, opt for the stole style: gently wrap the shawl around your shoulders, allowing the ends to hang down from the under arm. Perfect for eveningwear and as a bridesmaids’ accessory.

Full Shawl Wrap: To achieve this look simply wrap the full shawl around the shoulders. For a more fashionable approach, make a knot in the front. The latest celebrity to fall in love with the trend: Julia Roberts. The actress couldn’t stop wearing colored shawls while touring in India.

Chic Casual: Take a shawl closer to the size of a scarf and simply wrap it around your neck.

Hollywood Style: Want to dress like a celebrity? Take two pashmina shawls of different colors, then intertwine and drape them around the neck. Or go for the simpler version and get a reversible two-toned pashmina.

Belt/ Sarong Style: The sarong style is perfect for those who want to accentuate the hips area. All you need to do is nicely wrap the shawl around your waist. Perfect for a day at the beach!

How do you wear you Kashmiri Shawls?  Let us know in the comments section.
